Alexey Verhoven, one of the brightest representatives of the Saint-Petersburg conducting School, successfully performs with chamber, opera and symphony orchestras. Verhoven collaborated with such famous musicians as Daniil Kramer, Graf Murzha, Ivan Bessonov, Anastasia Moskvina, Nikita Borisoglebsky, Alexander Ramm, Mikhail Pochekin, Anastasia Kobekina, Gaik Kazazyan,Mukhiddin Doroulou, Anna Genyushene, Konstantin Yemelyanov, etc.
In 2019-2021, Verhoven was the chief conductor of the Togliatti Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2022, he was chosen by the Artistic Council of the Bolshoi Theater of the Republic of Belarus as a conductor.
At the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus, he conducts opera performances: G. Verdi's "La Traviata", P. Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin",
V. Mozart "The Magic Flute", S. Banevich "The Snow Queen", N. Rimsky-Korsakov "Mozart and Salieri", M. Minkov "Magic Music", G. Rossini "The Barber of Seville"; ballet performances: B. Asafiev "The Fountain of Bakhchisaray", I. Stravinsky "The Firebird", N. Rimsky-Korsakov "Scheherazade", P. Tchaikovsky "Anna Karenina", "The Nutcracker", S. Kibirova "Three Little Pigs"; prepared a New Year's concert.
The winner of the I.A. Musin international competition for symphony conductors and a diploma holder of the international competition named after Tleundiev in Astana. Verhoven studied conducting at the Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory with such famous conductors as Prof. Yuri Simonov and Prof. Alexander Titov. In addition Verhoven took an assistant internship at the Moscow State Conservatory under Prof. Anatoly Levin. His mentors include Professor of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan Vladimir Neymer and Robert Luther. Verhoven also participated in master classes by Bruno Weil and Vasily Sinaisky.
In addition to his degree in conducting, Verhoven holds a Bachelor's degree in cello.
In 2007, as a principal of the cello group in the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Volga Region, Verhoven was accepted into the orchestra's conductor-trainee group alongside such conductors as Aziz Shokhakimov, Valentin Uryupin and Maxim Yemelyanychev. That same year he became the chief conductor of the Symphony orchestra of the Ufa State Academy of Arts, which he conducted for three years.
In 2009, Alexey Verhoven was appointed as conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan becoming the only one elected by the musicians of the orchestra, as well as the youngest conductor in the history of the organization.
During his work with the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan, he conducted 25 programs and was awarded a certificate of honor by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan. He also received a grant from the Government of the Russian Federation and the President of the Republic of Bashkortostan..
In 2013, he was an assistant to Yuri Simonov during the preparation of the world premiere of Symphony No. 29 by Sergei Slonimsky with the Moscow Philharmonic.
In 2014, he made his debut with the opera "Eugene Onegin" at the Music Hall Theater in Saint-Petersburg.
After graduating from the St. Petersburg Conservatory, Verhoven mastered the opera repertoire at the Mikhailovsky Theater under the leading of music director Mikhail Tatarnikov.
Alexey Verhoven collaborates with such orchestras as: the Moscow State Philharmonic, the Orchestra of the Tauride Chapel of St. Petersburg, Astana Academic Symphony Orchestra, Kostroma Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, the Togliatti Philharmonic, Far Eastern Academic Symphony Orchestra etc.
